Hurghada Area Guide
Situated on the Red Sea coast Hurghada is one of Egypts main tourist resorts. Originally a small fishing village it has fast become a popular tourist destination and now a great place to invest in. You can still see parts of the old fishing village where the traditional way of life is still in evidence.
There are plenty of shops where you can browse the boutiques, souvenir shops and duty free malls which are in the Sekalla district. There is also a range of good restaurants serving freshly caught fish to tempt you. Nigh time is busy and Hurghada is known as a party town. They say life in Hurghada begins at night and there are a great number of clubs and bars to visit.

Hurghada is ideal for water sport lovers and has an international aquatic sport centre. You can enjoy swimming, snorkelling, diving, sailing, windsurfing and fishing. There are excellent underwater gardens just off shore where the warm water is ideal for the many fish and colourful coral reefs. If you are not a keen snorkeler then you can still see the reef from a glass bottom boat or submarine.
If you like getting out and about then there is a local aquarium, or north of Hurghada is El Gouna which is a beach resort with plenty to offer. For sightseeing Gebel Abu Dukhan is not too far and is a Roman ruin. If you are more adventurous why not book a safari by camel or jeep to the Red Sea Mountains or visit Giftin Island for the day where you can snorkel and enjoy a fish barbeque.
